A conference for subject teachers, faculty chairs, teachers-in-training, and school leadership personnel (class teachers also welcome!).
With Jana Hawley of Sunbridge Institute and Green Meadow Waldorf School, Mary Lynn Hetsko of NYC’s Rudolf Steiner School, Yolanda Navarro of the Brooklyn Waldorf School, and Patti Regan of Great Barrington Rudolf Steiner School.
Subject teachers play an essential role in the life of every Waldorf school—and in the experience of every Waldorf student. Bringing their gifts and expertise in their area of specialization, subject teachers complete the breadth and depth of the Waldorf curriculum. In this inaugural conference, subject teachers from across all subject areas will convene to learn about and share with one another the challenges and opportunities inherent to subject teaching.
Through presentation, study, and breakout group work (in discussions along pedagogical topic lines, as well as individual subject areas), we will cover such issues as:
- Working in multiple grades
- Classroom management
- Developing a subject curriculum across the grades
- Keeping your lessons fresh every year
- Lesson planning and scheduling
- Colleagueship and your role in the life of the school
- Training and other resources
