Four Core Elements of Successful Leadership

Friday, January 10, 2025 - Saturday, February 22, 2025

A two-part, online workshop for decision-makersā€”including administrators, directors, board and committee members, and faculty chairsā€”working in Waldorf schools or other workplace settings

Inspiring, Steering, Intervening, and Coaching

These are the four skills and tasks we need to become proficient in as leadersā€”and the focus of our latest Collaborative Leadership workshop. Over two weekends and through presentation, large and small group discussion, sharing, and journaling, under the expert guidance of facilitators Jessica Heffernan Ziegler and Joachim Ziegler, PhD, we will:

  • Define these leadership elements, both as skill sets and tasks, and illuminate their importance and the role each plays as you carry out your role as a leader
  • Explore our own level of comfort with each
  • Gain an initial understanding of what types of situations call for which skill and the necessity to adapt your approach to most effectively meet that person or situation
  • Improve our own competencies and capacities as core skills for all leaders

While all four leadership elements will be explored over the course of the workshop, the element of interveningā€”often the most difficult task for leaders in our schoolsā€”will be the primary focus of our second weekend. Intervening depends just as much on the organization’s governance structure (both formal and, especially, informal) and clarity of roles and responsibilities (methods of accountability) as it does on our understanding of our mandated roles and responsibilitiesā€”and, importantly, our ability to imbue them with our own authentic leadership posture.

We invite you to join us for another eye-opening, informative, and highly practical Collaborative Leadership experience.
